A middle aged nurse who slashed car tyres outside a neighbour's house had the case against her dismissed yesterday, but was asked by District Judge Desmond Windle to avail of "treatment".

Gardai told Rathfarnham District Court on a previous date that surveillance was undertaken in the Longwood area of Rathfarnham after a number of tyre slashing incidents.

On May 2nd, Ms Norah McKenna (50), from Longwood Park, Dublin 14, was seen slashing a vehicle's tyres outside a neighbour's house. She had pleaded guilty to this and had paid £120 compensation on her last appearance.

Garda Eamonn Cowzer had told the court on that date that "there was an ongoing dispute between herself and a neighbour. She complained about noise late at night and felt she was being ignored".
