Two people are being questioned at Shannon Garda Station following an alleged incident of criminal damage to the perimeter fence of Shannon Airport.

The 20-year-old woman and a man in his forties were arrested at 5.30 this morning. They are being held under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.

It is understood the two peace activists managed to gain access to the runway where they erected a shrine to the Iraqis killed by the American and British attack.
