Two people died in road accidents yesterday, bringing to 244 the number killed on the roads this year.
Mr Damien Garrett (23), from Crossmolina, Co Mayo, died after his car struck a bridge at Knockadangan at about 1.45 a.m. yesterday.
A 21-year-old Wexford woman died when the car she was driving collided with a lorry near Clonroche, on the Enniscorthy-New Ross road.
A man killed in in Co Cork on Wednesday has been named as Mr Sean Hickey (87), from Ballinhassig. His car collided with another vehicle at about 6.15 p.m. at Rigsdale in Ballinhassig, between Cork city and Bandon.
