A man in his 20s was killed and another was seriously injured in a three-car collision at Kinsealy, north Co Dublin. The fatally injured man was named as Mr Patrick Lee, of Millbrook Avenue, Kilbarrack. His car collided head-on with a hackney cab on the Malahide Road at 12.30 a.m. The hackney driver suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

In Co Westmeath, a 63-year-old man died after his car was involved in an accident at Ballymore around 11.20 a.m.
