Two men were admitted to St Michael's Hospital, Dun Laoghaire, last night after a stabbing incident on board the HSS Stena Line as it sailed from Holyhead to Ireland.
Gardai were waiting when the ship docked at 10.30 p.m. and the injured men were taken to hospital. It is understood a fight broke out between the men after the ship had left the Welsh port and that both sustained stab wounds.
In an unconnected incident, gardai in Dun Laoghaire made four arrests after finding "offensive weapons" in the possession of some of the passengers.
