A 19-year-old was shot in the right leg on the Westwinds estate in Newtownards, Co Down. Police say four masked men bundled the man into a car at 9.40 p.m. and brought him to the back of the shops on the estate.

The young man was told to lie face down before he was shot.

The second incident occurred at 11.30 p.m. in Mulberry Park, Dunmurray, in Belfast, where a man in his 30s was shot in the ankles.
