Two men died in India's western Gujarat state as supporters of the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated its election victory.
A police official said one man who worked for the opposition Congress party had been stabbed to death in the town of Baroda in central Gujarat. But he said police did not know the motive for the attack.
Police said yesterday a BJP worker had been killed and four others injured in the town of Rajkot in western Gujarat when their victory procession was attacked by unidentified men.
