Two die in Carlow, Sligo crashes

A man and a woman have been killed in separate crashes in Co Sligo and Co Carlow.

A man and a woman have been killed in separate crashes in Co Sligo and Co Carlow.

A man (26) was killed when his motorcycle was involved in collision with a 4X4 on R705 at Kilcummney, Co Carlow. The man's body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Diversions are in place at the scene as the road has been closed.

Earlier, two cars crashed head-on on the N4 at Drumfin, Riverstown, Co Sligo at about 9.00am.

The driver of one of the cars – a woman in her 60s – was pronounced dead at scene.

A male passenger in her car and the female driver of the other car were injured and taken to Sligo General Hospital for treatment.
