The bodies of a 14-year-old youth and a 29-year-old man were recovered from the River Bann last night. The two men, from Coleraine, Co Derry, got into difficulties while on a boat trip on the Upper Bann outside Ballymoney, Co Antrim.

The RUC's underwater search team, Portrush inshore lifeboat and two helicopters co-ordinated the search, which started shortly before 5 p.m.

The underwater search team combed a stretch of water around Drumaheagles Marina, near Ballymoney, after the teenager apparently fell into the water and the man dived in to rescue him.
