A woman in her 30s and a 17-year-old youth have been arrested in Limerick after gardai seized firearms during searches on a number of houses today.
A Garda statement said the searches were carried out by gardai at Roxboro Road as part of an ongoing operation targeting criminal activity in the south of the city.
A number of houses in O'Malley Park, Southhill, were searched. Three firearms were recovered and two people were arrested.
"The firearms recovered had been stolen during the course of a number of burglaries that occurred in the Limerick area in the last 12 to 18 months," the Garda statement said.
They are a rifle, a sawn-off shotgun and a full-length shotgun.
Both of those arrested are detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Roxboro Road Garda station.
