A song has been withdrawn from the final selection for Eurosong 2001 because it has been performed in public before - a breach of competition rules.
The song Gypsy Blue, by Thom Moore, was due to be performed at Eurosong 2001 on RTE television on February 25th.
However, it has breached Eurovision rules as it was one of the songs in the final of the Dun Laoghaire song contest and was broadcast on Radio 1 last year.
RTE accepted that any breach of the competition rules was inadvertent.
