The pressures of being First Minister for Northern Ireland and MP for Upper Bann, let alone keeping a watching brief on the sinister developments leading up to the carry-on at Drumcree, have obviously not stopped David Trimble enjoying the good social life that comes with top office. On Tuesday of last week he was at the US embassy in London for the Fourth of July party, on Wednesday he was in Madrid and on Thursday he was back in London and at the Spectator's annual July party where he rubbed shoulders with Orange Order expert Ruth Dudley Edwards and ex-IRA man Sean O'Callaghan.
