Train hits barrier at Co Wexford crossing

According to an Iarnród Éireann spokeswoman, the maintenance train, with one driver aboard, hit the barriers at the Bridgetown, Co Wexford, crossing, which was open to road traffic at the time.

She said there were no injuries nor disruption to traffic, and the driver was able to shunt the train back into a safe position.

The ballast train had been travelling from Waterford to Enniscorthy.
