Two Eircom league games scheduled for tonight have been postponed early this morning following a decision by one of the clubs involved to seek a court injunction.

Second-placed Bohemians were supposed to play their third game in six days in a match against league leaders Shelbourne tonight - a vital game in the title race.

Bohemians and St Patrick's Athletic have been involved in two games since last Sunday including a grueling cup semi-final replay that went to extra to extra time on Wednesday. St Patrick's Athletic were due to play Longford Town this evening.

However, in a statement this morning, the league backed down from insisting that the games go ahead. Both games have now been postponed to hear the clubs' appeal at the fixture congestion.
