Details have been announced of a new memorial for Irish victims of the Titanic at Pearse Square in Cobh, Co Cork.
The centrepiece of the memorial, to be unveiled on July 7th, is a bronze plaque depicting the Rice family on board the tender America, as they approached the Titanic off Roches Point. Six members of the family, and 70 other passengers who boarded at Cobh, died in the disaster.
