Three people are today being treated in hospital for bullet wounds to their legs after separate shooting incidents around Belfast.

In the first incident, in Monkstown on the outskirts of North Belfast, a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital and treated for a gunshot wound to the right leg. The incident occurred in Tynan Drive at around 8pm yesterday.

At around the same time in the north of the city a 29-year-old was shot in the left thigh in Brae Street and was tended to by the emergency services.

In the third incident, a 21-year-old was wounded in west Belfast. He was admitted to hospital after being shot in both ankles in New Barnsley Gardens.
