A smoke alarm alerted the occupants of the house in the Curragh plains shortly after 11 p.m. last night.

Gardai and emergency services were called to a number of bonfires overnight but say there were no major incidents.

Fire fighters in Dublin spent several hours extinguishing a fire on a property adjacent to Polyhop’s pub in Lucan. There were no reports of any injuries.
