A 12-year-old girl was killed yesterday just after 5 p.m. while crossing the road at Trievevane, Burnfoot, Co Donegal. "She was struck by an oncoming vehicle," a Garda spokesman said, "and died at the scene of the accident."
An 81-year-old man was killed yesterday in Co Wexford when the tractor he was reversing overturned and he was pinned underneath. The accident happened on a farm at Ramsgrange, near New Ross, just after 3 p.m.
A 46-year-old Tipperary man died when his car collided with a lorry at Kilkeary, near Nenagh, Co Tipperary, shortly after 6 p.m. The driver of the lorry was shaken but unharmed.
