Thieves steal cash in Dublin, Meath

In north Dublin, a cash-in-transit employee was collecting money from a shop at Century Business Park, Meakstown, at about 2pm when two men attacked him with what is believed to be a crow bar.

The robbers escaped on foot towards the Charlestown estate with a cash box. According to gardaí, one of the men was tall and thin, and wearing an orange rain jacket with grey tracksuit bottoms.

The second man was shorter, at about 1.75m (5ft 9in), and was wearing a dark jacket, a grey cap and dark trousers.

Gardaí in Finglas are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 01 6667500.

Elsewhere, there was another robbery from a cash-in-transit van in Ratoath, Co Meath.

At about 8.30am two men, both believed to be armed, held up security men as serviced an ATM machine at a shopping centre in Ratoath village and escaped with cash.
