Prolific Northern playwright Marie Jones (right) is currently having substantial success to reward her labours and talents. Her clever two-hander Stones in his Pockets, following an extensive tour around Ireland, is now a sell-out in London and about to move up-market to the prestigious Duke of York Theatre for an open- ended run. It is also playing in Sweden and, early next year, goes to Broadway. Back home, her play Ruby, about the singer Ruby Murray, opens soon at the Belfast Opera House. In Dublin, her Women on the Verge - Get a Life! - a sequel to the hit Women on the Verge of HRT - commences a run in the Gaiety Theatre next Thursday. It's directed by Terry Byrne and stars Ruth Hegarty, Amanda Hurwitz and Louis Decosts Johnson. Busy times indeed for this very popular writer.
