Divers yesterday morning recovered the body of 16-year-old Oisin Connolly of Dolan, Roundstone, Connemara, from Lough Ban, four miles from his home. He had been missing since 3 p.m. on Saturday when he went with his uncle, Mr Martin Connolly, and a neighbour, Mr Sean Mitchell, to collect sheep. His baseball cap had been found near the lake.
He was a pupil of Clifden Community School and had attended Ballyconneely Primary School. An agricultural show scheduled for the village of Ballyconneely yesterday was postponed as a mark of respect.
