A young Cork woman has been sent back to jail to finish a sentence because she failed to comply with the bail conditions under which she recently was released. Michele Wyse (19) was originally jailed in December 1995 by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for 2 1/2 years for her role in the robbery of another teenager.

Wyse (19), Harbour View Road, Knocknaheeny, pleaded guilty to her role in the robbery of Ms Rachel Hussey who was badly beaten and robbed at knife point at Cross Street, Cork, on August 23rd, 1993.

She was jailed by Judge Michael Moriarty who said the case showed that Cork girls who abused ecstasy and cannabis could be as vicious and mean minded as their Dublin male counterparts.

Wyse was released some weeks ago by Judge Cyril Kelly on strict conditions but her case was reentered by the probation and welfare service because she failed to abide by them.

Judge Kelly said he had no option but to order she complete the balance of the sentence. The court heard she also faced new charges.
