London - Mechanics making Queen Elizabeth's new Jaguar car bomb-proof discovered pornographic magazines and a painted swastika behind a seat panel, the Guardian reported yesterday.

Buckingham Palace spokesmen did not want to speculate, saying it was a matter for the auto firm. Jaguar said it took the claims "very seriously" and has mounted an investigation. A worker at Jaguar's factory in Coventry is said to have agreed to resign over the incident.

In a statement, Jaguar said it could not comment on production of vehicles for VIPs for security reasons. It went on: "Jaguar has apologised to the royal household for any embarrassment already sustained."
