Some 13 suspected cases of SARS have been investigated in the State. However, the details of just six have been notified to the World Health Organisation.
They presented as follows:
March 18th: St James's Hospital investigated a man who had returned from south-east Asia.
March 19th: Second case investigated at Beaumont Hospital.
March 20th: Businessman admitted to Mayo General Hospital four days after returning from Hong Kong. Discharged on March 23rd; remains Republic's only probable case of SARS.
March 21st: Suspected case investigated at Portlaoise General Hospital.
March 22nd: A Chinese woman was examined for the virus at Tallaght Hospital.
March 22nd-23rd: Two other suspect cases were investigated at Dublin hospitals.
March 25th: A woman on an Aer Lingus flight from London to Cork, after travelling from China, assessed at Cork University Hospital.
April 14th: Two Filipina nurses examined for symptoms at St James's Hospital.
April 18th: Chinese woman seen in A&E unit of St Vincent's Hospital and discharged to Dún Laoghaire hostel.
April 24th: Woman from the south-east examined at Waterford Regional Hospital after returning from Toronto.
