Army explosives experts are today examining a suspect device found by gardaí when they stopped a man in Dublin.

Army explosives experts are today examining a suspect device found by gardaí when they stopped a man in Dublin.

Gardai on foot patrol early today stopped the man, 22, on Kevin Street.

They arrested the man who is now being held at Kevin Street Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.

The army bomb disposal team was called in, but they have yet to determine if the item seized by gardai was a viable device or a hoax.

Gardai said no further information was available as yet.
