Kabul - Afghanistan's ruling Taliban called ministers to a special meeting in Kabul yesterday and threatened severe punishment for anyone supporting the return of ex-king Mohammad Zahir Shah, branding him a "puppet of America".
The Taliban took a defiant stand as the United States mobilised for a war on terrorism and Pakistan said evidence of the involvement of Osama bin Laden, a guest of the Taliban, in last month's attacks on the US was impressive.
