A suicide bomber detonated explosives near a police checkpoint in northern Israel early today.
A border guard noticed a suspicious person and approached him. The bomber detonated explosives he was carrying on his body, killing himself. There were no other casualties, said an Israeli police spokesman.
The incident comes a day after a suicide bombing killed three Israelis in the coastal city of Netanya.
Israeli media reported a heavy police presence along the West Bank frontier on Monday, not far from the Tanakhim junction where the latest bombing took place.
