Students at Sligo Regional Technical College are seeking local support for a petition urging the provision of a new college library and administration block, and the upgrading of the college to the status of an institute of technology.
The president of the students union, Mr Shane Cummins, said students at the college contribute about £1 million a month to the local economy, and it would be in the interests of business people in the region to sign the petition.
