Rangoon - Thousands of students protested against the Burmese regime yesterday in the biggest demonstrations in nearly two years.
"End the military government," up to 800 students at the Rangoon Institute of Technology chanted as riot police cordoned off the campus, witnesses said. Another 3,000 students rallied at the Hlaing campus.
At least six trucks of riot police were seen arriving at Hlaing and up to 200 more police were deployed around the main campus.
