Stena Lines is to close its Irish call centre in Dun Laoghaire. The 17 staff, some with over 30 years service, will be offered redundancy or redeployment.
Future reservations by Irish customers will be dealt with through the UK centre for Stena at Ashford in England. A company spokeswoman said increasing use of the internet to book tickets meant that two call centres were no longer needed.
