The Mid-Western Health Board has stated that two members of the staff at St Vincent's School, Lisnagry, Co Limerick, have been suspended by the board of management. The statement said there had been "criticism of the health board's handling of allegations of abuse of children" who were pupils at the school.

St Vincent's School provides an educational service for children with learning disabilities.

The board's statement adds: "Information regarding a total of 46 children has been considered by An Garda Siochana and the health board. Thirteen children have been the subject of clinical assessment by health board personnel."
