A 30-year-old part-time British soldier from Northern Ireland has died from swine flu

A 30-year-old part-time British soldier from Northern Ireland has died from swine flu. Lee Porter from Coleraine, Co Derry, contracted the illness while on training operations with the Royal Artillery in Surrey in England. He died in hospital in Surrey last Friday, two weeks after taking ill.

Mr Porter was a full-time firefighter in Northern Ireland who served part-time with the territorial army. His family thanked friends for their support and asked for privacy.
