Athens - Pollution may endanger the ancient columns of the Acropolis, but unsightly cigarette butts will pile up no more, thanks to a ban on smoking at archaeological sites announced yesterday. The law forbids smoking in museums and at archaeological sites, the Greek Culture Ministry said, and will be enforced "because of a number of archaeologists' complaints about cigarette butts on monuments."
