A Sinn Féin councillor in north Belfast today claimed a pregnant woman in the Ardoyne has been told of a threat to her life from loyalists.

Ms Margaret McClenaghan said police had urged the woman "to take immediate security precautions.

"They claimed that loyalists had details of her car and the route which she takes to work each day. The woman in question is obviously very concerned about this revelation.

"This news raises serious questions for the Loyalist Commission who assured us that loyalist groups were on cessation and were operating a no-first-strike policy," McClenaghan said.
