One of Ireland’s first sextuplets has died, according to the family’s publicist Max Clifford.
Baby girl Carrie Conway, who was born along with three sisters and two brothers in Belfast in May, died in hospital last night.
Parents Nuala and Vincent Conway from Dunamore near Cookstown conceived the babies naturally.
The sextuplets born within just five minutes of each other in May, and who weighed between 1lb 7oz and 2lb 2oz, are all stable in intensive care.
Nuala and Vincent, who were married in 2006, did not conceive the babies through IVF.
The birth of sextuplets is rare, occurring in about one out of 4.5 million pregnancies.
