A Co Sligo man who was jailed for seven years in December 1997 for having sex with his under-age sister and daughter has been released from prison by the Central Criminal Court.
The 45-year-old man was convicted in June 1997 for having unlawful carnal know ledge of his sister and daughter in 1978, when both girls were under the age of 15.
Mr Justice Geoghegan said there was a very satisfactory probation report before him, and despite there being one year and seven weeks of the sentence remaining, he was prepared to take a chance.
