Angry parents expressed opposition to the RSE sex education programme in primary schools at a meeting of the National Council of Parents in Doaegal town on Tuesday.
More than 200 parents attended the meeting.
A spokesperson for the parents opposed to the programme said: "Great pressure is being imposed on parents and children and teachers to accept sex and relationships courses in our schools. We want to emphatically state that the imparting of such knowledge is the right and responsibility of parents and has no place in the classroom."
