Clear shot
It was not the week to find yourself in the sights of disgruntled AIB shareholder Gary Keogh who landed one egg on AIB chairman Dermot Gleeson, while another narrowly missed the bank’s chief executive Eugene Sheehy at an extraordinary general meeting on Wednesday. Keogh’s anger at losing €18,000 on an AIB investment did little to cloud his vision, though he expressed regret at missing Sheehy by “a centimetre”. Keogh vowed his vengeance wouldn’t end there: “It was the first time; it won’t be the last.”

Clear sight
It was the first time for Jenny O'Connell when, after 46 years without sight, she saw her husband and children this week. Having lost her vision at the age of 11, following a reaction to a medicine, O'Connell had her sight partially restored over four decades later through an operation at a Dublin hospital. After an artificial cornea was inserted, she was able to see again with her right eye, and look upon a husband, son and daughter whom she had never been able to see before. "I just can't believe it actually happened. It's all my dreams together," she said.
