Children as young as eight are taking part in cage fighting in the UK, it emerged this week. Council officials in Preston, Lancashire, have ordered the review of the licence of Greenlands Labour Club, where two eight-year-old boys took part in a fight watched by an audience of 250 adults. The owner of the club, Michelle Anderson, defended the event and said it was not cage fighting. “They were just grappling . . . The event was perfectly legal. There was only one fight for kids, which was a demonstration fight.”
