A seminarian at St Patrick’s College in Maynooth has begun a seven-day walk from Dublin to Limerick to publicise the plight of the Karen people of Burma.
Ger Fitzgerald left O’Connell Street in the capital on Saturday and plans to arrive on O’Connell Street, Limerick, on Friday. He is walking with Burmese exiles, and rights activists, and they are fundraising en route for a refugee medical clinic on the Burma-Thailand border.
