A security van driver has claimed before the High Court that nothing was done to protect him and his family following the “tiger kidnapping” of a colleague’s family in 2005.
James Eakins (62), Greenhills, Dublin, has sued Securicor Security Services Limited for damages over post-traumatic stress and depression allegedly suffered as a result of his crew being asked to hand over more than €1 million at a service station in January 2007 to a colleague whose wife was the victim of a kidnapping.
Two Securicor managers, Ann Purcell and Glen Keane, said after the kidnapping of employee Paul Richardson’s family in 2005 that the company had taken steps to protect their workers.
The case continues.
