Search for missing diver resumes

A search for a diver missing in waters near a shipwreck off the coast of Co Cork coast has resumed this morning.

The German man in his 50s was one of three diving 90m (295ft) to the wreck of the SS Minnehaha which was torpedoed off Cape Clear by a German U-boat in 1917.

The man was diving from the boat Holly Jo, out of Castletownshend, when he failed to resurface with his two companions.

A lifeboat crew from Baltimore went out at 7am.

Naval vessel LE Ciara had been co-ordinating the search operation about 20km south of Castletownshend last night.
