Cairo - An Egyptian court sentenced a Saudi Arabian princess to three years in jail yesterday for failing to pay a $1.2-million jewellery bill, security sources said.

Princess Hend Shamseldin al-Fasi and one of her employees, a Lebanese national, Samir Miqlid Shahib, each received three-year sentences. Her Egyptian secretary, Ahmed Awad, got a two-year prison term. All three were tried and sentenced in absentia.
