Sales to US passengers resume at Irish airports

The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) resumed sales of liquor and perfume to US bound passengers today.

Stringent controls on the carrying of fluids and other items aboard planes were introduced in the wake of last week's terror alert in Britain.

But these measures have been gradually relaxed.

A Dublin Airport Authority spokeswoman said: "Where liquor and perfume products are purchased, the bag will be sealed, passengers will then be given a receipt, a copy of this receipt will be attached to the bag.

The bag will then be delivered to the passenger, at a point near their boarding gate, on production of the receipt."

The procedure was introduced in conjunction with the US Transport Security Administration and fully complies with measures on board the aircraft, she added.
