Fulham striker Louis Saha earned the relegation threatened Londoners a crucial point with a second-half goal as they held Newcastle United to a 1-1 draw in the English Premiership tonight.

The Frenchman deflected in a shot from Sean Davis after 77 minutes to cancel out Kieron Dyer's 21st minute opener for Newcastle.

The draw still lifted Bobby Robson's side up one place into the fourth and final Champions League place, which go to the top four finishers in the league.

Newcastle, who have 61 points from 33 games, leapfrogged Chelsea who have 60 from 34 matches.

Fulham, who have lost seven of their last nine league games, remain two places above the relegation zone with 37 points from 34 matches. Jean Tigana's side are four points above third from bottom Ipswich having played the same number of games.

Newcastle striker Alan Shearer, the league's all-time leading scorer, still needs one goal to chalk up 200 goals in the division.
