Poland:Ryanair has lampooned Poland's scandal-ridden government, offering to help teachers escape their ultra-nationalist education minister and mocking two politicians accused of demanding sex in return for jobs.

Referring to a "laughable" offer from education chief Roman Giertych to give teachers a monthly pay rise of €1-€3, Ryanair suggested that "teachers, who have been cheated for the umpteenth time, now have no choice but to leave a country run by a bunch of cartoon characters".

Offering to "save teachers from Giertych", the airline suggested they buy a cut-price ticket from Warsaw to Dublin, following hundreds of thousands of Poles who have gone west looking for work since Poland joined the EU in 2004.

Mr Giertych announced this week that his League of Polish Families (LPR), which is part of the ruling coalition, was severing ties with the All-Polish Youth group, which was notorious for anti-Semitism early in the last century and which he reactivated in 1989.

The split was prompted by the sacking of an aide to Mr Giertych's father, Maciej, an MEP, after she was filmed at a neo-Nazi rally.
