US Defence SecretaryMr Donald Rumsfeld has said Iraqi television footageapparently showing American prisoners of war was a violation ofthe Geneva Convention.
On CBS's Face the Nation,Mr Rumsfeld was shown footagerelayed by the Arabic satellite station al-Jazeera that Iraqtelevision claimed were captive US soldiers.
"That's a violation of the Geneva Convention, thosepictures you showed," Mr Rumsfeld said of the international law ontreatment of prisoners of war. He said the convention prohibitsthe photographing or interrogation by media of those capturedin battle.
