RUC officers came under attack during a search operation in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim tonight.
A spokeswoman said one officer was injured when he was hit by a stone during the incident in Ballyvessey shortly before 9 p.m.
Two explosive devices were also reported to have been thrown at the police.
The area has been cordoned off and the search operation is continuing.
