A MOTION at Republican Sinn Fein's conference in Dublin this weekend welcomes the support for the party's objectives "which was recently expressed by the Continuity Army Council of Oglaigh na hEireann".
The Garda Commissioner, Mr Patrick Byrne, has linked the party with the CAC, which planted a massive car bomb outside an RUC barracks in Derry last week. RSF insists that the CAC is not its military wing. However, another motion congratulates "those faithful republicans for the continuity of their resistance to English occupation
A further resolution endorses the public statement by the party's late patron, Mr Tom Maguire, in which he recognised the CAC as "the legitimate leadership of the Irish Republican Army".
Several hundred delegates from both sides of the Border are expected to attend the two-day conference which will be addressed by the party leader, Ruairi O Bradaigh.
Delegates will be asked to consider allowing Republican Sinn Fein to contest next year's Westminster elections in the North on an abstentionist ticket.
Republican Sinn Fein opposes the peace process which it believes will reinforce partition. In an implicit reference to Provisional Sinn Fein, a motion condemns "those who have openly compromised their republican principles whilst portraying themselves as republicans".
A resolution pledges Republican Sinn Fein to redouble its efforts in the year ahead "to expose the `peace' process as false and ensure that nationalists are not drawn into participating in a new Stormont".
A motion reiterates the party's demands for a British withdrawal, an amnesty for all paramilitary prisoners and "the people of Ireland, as a unit, discussing and deciding the future of Ireland".
There are also resolutions calling for an improvement of conditions for nine republican inmates in Limerick Prison. Delegates will also be asked to support a national minimum wage and condemn the attitude of multinational companies towards work forces in Ireland as was seen with Packard Electric".
Motions in the international section pledge allegiance to the Palestinian people "in their continuing struggle for self-determination" and condemn the US economic blockade of Cuba.
