Mutual insurer Royal Liver has announced that Billy Connolly has been appointed as interim CEO of the society.

Mutual insurer Royal Liver has announced that Billy Connolly has been appointed as interim CEO of the society.

Mr Connolly, who is currently group secretary at Royal Liver will take over the rolle held by chairman David Woods in early January, subject to final regulatory approval from the Financial Services Authority.

He has been with the insurer since 1974 and has held a number of managerial positions over the last ten years.

Roayl Liver also said that owing to the fact that its finance director George McGregor is on extended leave due to personal circumstances, it has appointed Tony Ricahrds as interim finance officer with immediate effect.
